Ryan's Book Review: Animal Farm

Animal Farm by George Orwell

Pink Floyd, Pigs. Three Different Ones
Animals (1977)

Synopsis: A pig decides to be a commie and he inspires all these other animals to be commies, but then the first pig dies and then these other pigs decide to be really hardcore commies and they run off this farmer and then the two main pigs have a bit of a disagreement over a windmill and one pig has his dogs run the other off and pretty soon all hell breaks loose and Boxer the Horse gets sent to the glue factory.  "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others."

Review: This is a pretty good book about the corruption of socialist ideals.  Should you want to endear yourself to a Republican, give him or her a copy of this along with Atlas Shrugged (they won't actually read either, of course, but they will be appreciated nonetheless for how fine they look sitting next to the Sean Hannity oeuvre).  As you walk away, it will be okay to remind yourself that capitalism ain't exactly perfect either.

I should read this book to be smarter about stuff. Farm animals as characters is interesting in and of itself.

Yeah, I pretty much read it as a prequel to Charlotte's Web.
